A cyclocross legend died

A shocking message came from Kamenice by Prague on Tuesday. Former outstanding cyclocross racer Radomir Simunek died at the age of 48. His wife confirmed this sad message. Simunek used to be a Czech cyclocross icon in the eighties and nineties. He won World Championship among juniors in 1980 and gained two gold medals among adult amateurs. The height of Simunek´s career was the title among professionals in 1991. Thanks to the title Simunek won the traditional survey "The sportsman of the year".
