Sparta with new coaches overplayed the Indians
The hockey fans was watching an exciting match-up between Sparta Prague and HC Pilsen 1929 yesterday. The home team with new coaches Horava and Rulik outdid the Indians and won 3:0. The beginnning was not too attractive. Sparta has been slumping in this season and Pilseners did not play very actively yesterday. So the American defender Brian Salcido scored the winning goal already in 9th minute. Afterwards Sparta got the visiting squad under the pressure and at the end of the middle period scored. Karel Hromas beat the goalkeeper Mazanec from the slap area. The tenacious Indians did not capitulate but the home goalkeeper (in the last season the Indian) Tomas Pöpperle resisted. Agile Hromas sealed the victory of the home team in the 49th minute. Sparta handled an anticipated match-up and defeated the Indians 3:0.
