Pilsen hockey team has been preparing for a new season

Pilsen players have been getting ready for the past two weeks. Right now they are undergoing summer practice. Coaches Marian Jelinek and Milan Razym welcomed in the team new players - an emphatic defender Tomas Frolo (from Boleslav) and Jan Herman, who will play side by side with his younger brother Martin, who has been playing for Pilsen. For a long time the most asked question was who will be the new goalie. Goaltenders Tomas Pöpperle and rookie Pavel Francouz left the team. In return Dusan Salficky and Petr Prikryl will guard the goal. An experienced goaltender, Dusan Salficky, is a double World Championship wiinner and crowd favourite. The second goaltender´s position will be held by Petr Prikryl, who left Sparta Praha after his team lost to Vitkovice in quaterfinals. Unfortunately, all the Canadian players (Mark Bomesback, Doug O´Brien and Tyler Scofield) also left the team. Pilsen fans will not see Petr Vampola in Pilsen jersey. The winner of 2010 World Championship in Germany is going for his second "Russian mission" - he will play fo Budivelnik Kyjev. Pilsen coaches also will not count on Martin Adamsky and Jan Benda.
Pilsen will open its new season on the September 17 against Karlovy Vary.
