Sparta with new coaches overplayed the Indians


The hockey fans was watching an exciting match-up between Sparta Prague and HC Pilsen 1929 yesterday. The home team with new coaches Horava and Rulik outdid the Indians and won 3:0. The beginnning was not too attractive. Sparta has been slumping in this season and Pilseners did not play very actively yesterday. So the American defender Brian Salcido scored the winning goal already in 9th minute. Afterwards Sparta got the visiting squad under the pressure and at the end of the middle period scored. Karel Hromas beat the goalkeeper Mazanec from the slap area. The tenacious Indians did not capitulate but the home goalkeeper (in the last season the Indian) Tomas Pöpperle resisted. Agile Hromas sealed the victory of the home team in the 49th minute. Sparta handled an anticipated match-up and defeated the Indians 3:0.

The fairytale unbeaten streak of Viktoria is over


Everything has to end someday. The winning streak of Viktoria Pilsen footballers lasted twelve matches in this league season! Mlada Boleslav beat Viktoria in an amazing game 4:3. The pace was very fast from the very beginning. In the 20th minute Chramosta placed the ball near the post - 1:0. After half an hour Adrian Rolko beat Pavlik again and it seemed to be a loosing game - 2:0. But Viktoria struggled. At the close of the first half Milan Petrzela fired a shot past the home goalkeeper and margin was only a goal - 2:1. Afterwards the sniper Kolar blew a goal opportunity and Taborsky increased the home team´s lead from a penalty kick - 3:1. After a minute Rada headed home but in the 69th minute Dimitrovski scored - 4:2. Viktoria gathered its strength and Rajtoral caged the goal - 4:3. Viktoria put the squeeze on the home squad but Boleslav maintained the valuable victory in a dramatic finish.

Jan Kovar put his brother down and the Indians overcame Budejovice


The Indians defeated Mountfield Ceske Budejovice 4:2 on Sunday. The main figure of the game was Jan Kovar who put his brother in Mountfield´s cage down and scored two times. His goal from 57th minute was the game winner. In end-to-end match the Indians opened the score. Jan Kovar deflected the shot from the blue line - 1:0. The goaltender Kovar made a solid save against Jerabek and the visiting team equalized the game. After a fast counter Roman Psurny beat Mazanec in the home goal - 1:1. The first period ended up in a tie. After the conciliatory period both team did not want to make a mistake and the play was not very attractive. The spectators have been waiting for a goal to 57th minute. Michal Dvorak deflected Sykora´s shot from the blue line - 2:1. But after a few seconds Martynek broke the home giddiness - 2:2. But Pilsen team made a fantastic finish. 43 seconds after Martynek´s goal the hero of the bout Jan Kovar beat his brother again - 3:2. The captain Straka sealed the victory during visiting team´s power-play - 4:2.

Viktoria outrivaled Brno and increased the lead on top of the table


Viktoria Pilsen footballers have been in a sparkling form still. In the 12th season´s round Pilseners bowed out Zbrojovka Brno 4:1 and thanks to the loss of Sparta Prague against Teplice Viktoria has a surpassing 12-points lead on the top of the league table. The novice in the national team Petrzela opened the score. Afterwards Jan Rezek converted a penalty kick. At the close of the first half Michalek placed but Pilsen handled the game. Jan Rezek and Daniel Kolar stunned Zbrojovka and Viktoria has not lost so far in the league.

The Indians defeated Zlin on Tuesday


Pilsen hockey team broke bad tradition on Tuesday. The Indians won the second game in a row which was firstly in this season. In the 13th season´s game Pilseners beat PSG Zlin 4:3 and linked the victory to Sunday´s victory over Trinec 3:1. The rookie Mazanec guarded the goal in both games and he was the main figure of the games. On Sunday Mazanec stopped a few chances and sniper Vlasak broke the deadlock at the end of the first period. In the middle period American Nick Johnson increased the lead. In the 48th minute the visiting defender Vagner beat Mazanec but Jan Herman secured the victory soon. On Tuesday Pilsen arrived to Zlin and was loosing two times in the game. The second period was pivotal. At the end of the period Hanzlik and Sykora beat Duba in the home goal. In the 47th minute Ivan Rachunek only decreased the lead.

The Indians succumbed to the outsider of the league


The inconvincible performances of the Pilsen hockey team have been continuing. The Indians dropped in Kladno after penalty shots. The Pilsen team buoyed up the first unit Sykora, Straka, Vlasak that chalked up three goals. The deadlock was broken by the young Kafka after five minutes of the game. Afterwards Martin Straka tied the game, but in the start of the middle period Kafka scored again. Then Tomas Vlasak got the equalizer and in the 34th minute Petr Sykora netted the third goal and the visiting team took the lead. Pilseners did not hold the victory because Martin Latal hit the bull´s eye in the 51th minute. Then the Indians were lucky after Treille´s shot to the post. The game came to the overtime but the score did not change. The winning goal netted Jaroslav Kalla in penalty shots, the home team won the first bout in the league season. In the next round Pilsen will face Mlada Boleslav in CEZ Arena.

Viktoria Pilsen fought out a 1-0 victory in Prague


Viktoria Pilsen footballers are in a sparkling form in this season. Pilsen carved out a 1-0 victory in Eden and the unbeaten streak of Pilsen team has lasted 18 matches! In this season Pilsen has not lose yet, only in the first round tied with Olomouc 2:2. Slavia started more actively than Viktoria and Kisel hit the crossbar after a few minutes. Afterwards the visiting squad forced the pace and in the 17th minute broke the deadlock. The sharpshooter Rezek was fouled in the penalty area and the same player converted the penalty kick. Rezek scored seventh time in this league season. In the second half Slavia got the visiting team under the pressure but Viktoria resisted. At the close of the game Vyhnal blew a clear chance. Viktoria´s coach Vrba admitted that the victory was in luck. "Slavia played actively, more emphatically than us. This victory was in luck," claimed Pavel Vrba.
