Snobel from Ostrava won the Czech nationals


The Czech indoor tennis nationals that took place in TK Slavia Pilsen is over. The second seeded Pavel Snobel from Ostrava gained the singles title, duo Vrbka, Lustig handled the doubles.

An experienced Snobel and last-year runner-up won the tournament for the fourth time, 2009 winner Rosol did not play in Pilsen this year. In the final game, Snobel played attentively and defeated Pilsen hope Schmid clearly 6:3, 6:4.

Pilsner player and 453th player of ATP did not join former victors from West-Bohemian centre – Radim Zitko or Martin Stepanek won the nationals in the past.

Both players advanced to Saturday final clearly except the second round – Snobel beat Satral 2:1, Schmid handled the battle against Toman 6:2 in the third set. Snobel also overplayed the only home player Stengl, another Pilsner player Blazek from TK Skoda succeded in qualification to loose 3-set match against Vojtisek.

Top seeded Schmid played doubles final too, but with Zitko lost to an experienced duo Vrbka, Lustig 4:6 and 5:7.
