Pilsen overcame Vitkovice to return in top 10

After loosing 19 points in the league table in November, every game is highly important for Pilsen team. Already, the Indians have been in top 10 but they lost in Litvinov and then Benzina overplayed slumping Sparta to push the Indians back from top 10. Yesterday, Pilsen prevailed Vitkovice Steel to return into the play-off zone.

The duel in CEZ Arena was not too attractive. The Indians´ power-plays did not go right in the first period. Captain Straka blew a clear chance, in the end of the period Johnson was fouled on the breakaway.

The middle period was clutch for the game. Firstly, Pilsen team scored on the power-play. Radek Duda beat his erstwhile teammate Malek and the Indians led. In the 29th minute, CEZ Arena exploded again. John Lammers circled the net to increase the lead of the home side.

Afterwards, the home team had several scoring opportunities to increase the lead but Malek did not capitulate again. Whereas, Vitkovice dramatized the game after Kana´s goal midway through the third period. However, the visiting team did not manage the equalizer and Tomas Vlasak sealed the victory to an empty net.
